The Eklipse incorporates the knowledge Rick has gleaned from years of sending XM-18 into the hands of hard users and the resulting creation is a knife that feels great in the hand. It is perfectly balanced, and has a the precision lock up you expect from Hinderer. Similar in size to the world famous and tested XM-18 3.5", but with a totally different feel!
The GEN 2 Eklipse - Rick wanted to make a couple subtle design tweaks and thus the GEN 2 Eklipse has a relocated stop pin that will allow wider variety of blade profiles to fit in the frame. The frame is also just a tad bit longer and therefore GEN 1 Eklipse scales will not fit on these GEN 2 knives. All of the other hardware (screws, handle nuts, pivot, clip, etc) are interchangeable between generations
The Blade: The world famous Hinderer Spanto blade profile which is a combination of a traditional spearpoint with the reinforced tip of a tanto now gets a bit of poon. Harpoon that is. That bit of extended upper swedge gives the classic Spanto a mean look. Finished with Hinderer's hard use Stonewashed finish.
The Frame: Titanium lock side and scale liner are titanium with Hinderer's Stonewashed finish.
